Overview
Targa’s Series 4 Gigabit (Gb) Ethernet, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Data Transfer System (DTS) provides a compact self-contained system to store and retrieve data from a removable Serial ATA (SATA) flash disk in the most demanding environments. The data transfer system components are; a Data Transfer Unit (DTU), removable Data Transfer Device (DTD) and Ground Support Unit (GSU).
This lightweight, compact DZUS mount unit features multiple removable 256GB ATA flash disks that can be easily transported and used interchangeably with any other Targa Series 4 NAS System. In addition to loading/retrieving data, Series 4 NAS DTU servers allow any network device to access the mission, map, and maintenance data on removable solid state flash DTD’s (Data Transfer Devices.) The standard Series 4 NAS DTU comes with one (1) or two (2) DTD’s for a maximum capacity of 512GB. Each compact DTD weighs only 500 grams and is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and is built to withstand extremes in temperature, shock, and vibration.
Targa Systems "GEN2" DTU now supports "Data at Rest" encryption via an optional on-chip encryption accelerator supporting 128/192/256 bit AES encryption. Additional features include a sophisticated key management scheme as well as the ability to have multiple independent encryption partitions per disk.
